Bruno Senna just crashed his Williams really hard into the Champion’s Wall in Montreal and I think its a good opportunity to discuss Senna and his career thus far in F1 and his relationship with Williams. The crash itself seems to have been caused by a severe oversteer condition and a too aggressive entry, exasperating the condition and necessitating what will probably be a late night for the Williams mechanics.
This is another score against Senna at Williams. There has been a string of non points finishes which would be fine for a midfield team last year and expected for Williams, but this year is a completely different story with Maldonado winning at Spain. Senna’s lack of performance in Spain was not his fault, recall that Schumacher rammed into him into turn one. Senna, however, is incredibly valuable as a marketing commodity. We’ll have to see if his on track performance improves.
