Daily Summary 8/8

Today’s news centers around the Nurburgring financial struggle, Jenson Button and Ferrari and Heikki Kovalainen trying to get himself into a point scoring team.

First up the Nurburgring.  Autosport is reporting that there are further investigations concerning the financial situation at the ‘Ring.  The situation is undoubtedly immensely complicated and the track has already made it clear that they would not be able to pay the hosting fee for the German GP in 2013.  While Ecclestone has said that he would waive that fee, nothing is set in stone.


Rumors are gaining steam that Jenson Button may be headed to Ferrari to replace Felipe Massa.  Button, however, has rejected these rumors, suggesting that a move to Ferrari could happen in a “parallel universe.”  Button seems to find the whole thing amusing rather than serious.

Heikki Kovalainen has made it clear that he would like to be on a team that consistently scores points, something that Caterham has yet to achieve.  The Finn has impressed since he left McLaren and joined the fledgling squad, though progress has been slower than expected.
