Alonso won yesterday in Valencia while his two nearest rivals, Hamilton and Vettel failed to finish. This means that Alonso leads the standings by 23 points over none other than Mark Webber.
Notable moments of the race to me:
Alonso wins
Vettel and Grosjean fall to an undercooled alternator causing them both to retire, Vettel from the lead and Grosjean from a certain second place.
Maldonado rams into Hamilton (more on this later).
Red Bull’s updates cement the RB8 as the fastest car on the grid (again more later).
Schumacher got a podium (about time).
Raikkonen continues to sulk on the podium and claims nothing less than victory is acceptable
Button continues to underperform (I already wrote on this one)
Di Resta one stops (surprise of the race for me)
